In spagyric tincture there is a process of separation, purification and re-combining of plant materials. By separating the original substance into its diverse components, activated principles are separated from the inert, making the tincture more therapeutically effective than the original plant material.
This method has mistakenly been applied in chemistry in the search for a way to make gold, but was intended originally to activate substance in a way that was more suitable for humans to use as medicine.
